Leap Wireless To Acquire California PCS Spectrum

Santa Barbara, CA Alpine PCS, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2003, today announced the Bankruptcy Court approval of the sale of its Fresno, CA C-block PCS license (930,000 POPs) for $27.1 million to Leap Wireless (“Leap”). This represented a price of nearly $1.00 per MHz/POP. Leap successfully outbid other bidders, including Metro PCS, in an auction process to acquire the assets. Galaxy Cable Assets Sold To Carson Communications

New York, NY Waller Capital announced today the close of the sale of certain cable television assets owned by Galaxy Cable, a rural provider serving over 72,000 subscribers throughout the U.S., to Carson Communications. The cable television systems serve approximately 1,900 subscribers in primarily Seneca and Sabetha, Kansas. Carson Communications is a rural provider serving over 4,200 subscribers in Kansas. Western Cable Sold To Comcast Corporation

New York, NY Western Cable Communications, Inc. announced today the close of the sale of the Company to Comcast Corporation. Western Cable provided video and data service in the Chicago, IL metropolitan area. Waller Capital advised Western Cable in the transaction. Shaw Communications Closes Sale Of US Assets

New York, NY Canadian MSO Shaw Communications closed on the sale of its U.S. cable properties in Texas and Florida today. In February, Shaw announced a deal to sell its Florida properties to Bright House Networks for $112 million. Jerry Kent’s Cequel III agreed to buy Shaw’s Texas assets for $84 million.
